Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is a common heart arrhythmia characterised by an irregular and rapid heartbeat. Patients with AF are at risk of stroke. Therefore, AF management and prevention of complications caused by AF is crucial at the community level. Dr Pathak's presentation focuses on managing AF and reducing the risk of AF-induced complications in the community. This GP education event informs delegates about the management of AF using a variety of strategies. The medical and pharmaceutical options are available for both the general practitioner and cardiologist by looking at the four pillars of management.
